Once again, Lollipop is offering a variety of art clubs for different ages! Take a peek at our first project completed in the Little Owl art club! They got to make the cutest little trinket jars to house their necklaces, hair clips or any little knick knacks they may have floating around. We have lots of spots left for our February classes as well, so give the studio a call if your child loves getting creative!

We had a FABULOUS October full of amazing art projects and workshops. Last weekend was no exception as we kicked off our Halloween spirit with a Pumpkin art Workshop! The children got to carve their very own pumpkin, bake yummy pumpkin spice cookies and hear fun halloween stories!

Here at Lollipop, we are super excited to be heading right into fall with some AMAZING BRAND NEW programming. We are offering workshops that are new to Lollipop! This season we have our classic art, music, yoga and cooking classes to look forward to! With our highly creative and experienced instructors, we are also incorporating sewing, textile ( silk screening, fabric arts) illustration and gardening. We also have some truly creative and fun Specialties throughout September, October, November and December. Week 8's Wild West Camp - August 15-19
This week Children will get to make their own tie-dye bandanna, decorate their own cowboy hat and create a one of a kind horsey pal. Cooking classes will include Rootin' Tootin' Burritos. Homemade ice cream and wild west pancakes. Other activities include fun, interactive music classes, themed pottery and cake decorating! Yeehah!

Week 9's Sew Much Fun - August 22-26
Don't miss our final week of camp! This week will introduce children to the world of sewing and embroidery. Projects include fun, wearable embroidered accessories, personalized tote bags, creating fun, patterned fabric stuffed friends, a mixed media embroidered piece and even a sock monkey friend. Other activities include cooking, music classes, pottery, and cake decorating! Join us and have SEW much fun!

Fairy Tale Week at Lollipop!

Last week was FANTASTIC-ical here at Lollipop! It was fairytale week and we had a great time exploring illustration, writing, mixed media and fairy tales in general. The children create and designed their own dust jacket for their book which was printed and bound. ( such a great keepsake!) Along with creature quest, baking, cake decorating, ice cream making and a special visit from Cinderella herself, it was an amazing week!!

Our 3-4 year olds also had a great FARM themed week! They also worked with clay, pottery, made sheep pillowcases, creature quest & pancake making!

What a fun morning we had today! We had Loren of Goodie Goddess come in and teach everyone how to decorate their own fondant cake!! With "Oh Canada" as the theme this week, all cakes at a very creative patriotic flair to them:) Everyone had a ball and will be taking home a yummy cake for the long holiday weekend!

Summer Camps Begin!!

We are in full swing here at the Lollipop Art Lounge! Our mini camps were a true success and and children did everything from tye dye t-shirts, self portraits, body tracing/life size paintings, and pottery!

This week is well underway and the children are doing all sorts of art projects. Following our "Oh Canada!" theme, we've done all sorts of pieces such as a rocky mountain watercolor landscape, a patriotic Canadian celebratorial wreath, ceramic beaver figurines and of course a visit from Whimz's creatures!

End of Spring Term and into SUMMER FUN!

We wrapped up the wonderful spring with our student art gallery and a yummy Friday night cooking class!

We are now full swing into our summer mini camps with the regular camps beginning on June 27th. We still have room for registrations so get them in soon! We had a fabulous spring session with beautiful works of art and culinary wonders created!

Our cupcake and candy bar are also up and running so stop by for some sweets!!

Party Shoppe Launch!

On May 28th, Lollipop celebrated the Launch of our brand new Party Shoppe! With mountains of new candy, cupcakes, cake pops, balloons and fun toys Lollipop had a lot to celebrate!

We started the morning off with free cotton candy, and cupcake samples from Goodie Goddess. Goodie Goddess also provided us with amazingly delicious cupcakes including Chocolate, rainbowlicious and Chocolate Chip, cake pops and dipped Oreos.

All children that attended received a free Lollipop Loot bag! Barney the Magician and his Rabbit Merlin started things off with lots of great magic and balloon animals!

Soon after we were visited by Belle from Beauty and the Beast! She was oh so magical and sprinkled magic wishing dust on everyone!

It was a super fun day and a success! Come in and check out our new party shoppe! We have everything from loot bags, to balloons to cupcakes:)

PARTY SHOPPE LAUNCH!

This Saturday (May 28th) we are celebrating the Launch of our new PARTY SHOPPE from 11-3pm! We have a packed day of fun and entertainment for all! FREE Loot bags for the first 25 kids, afterwards all loot bag purchases will receive a FREE balloon! FREE cotton candy upon arrival! We will also be selling YUMMY cupcakes, cake pops and oreos from Goodie Goddess with a steal of a deal of buy one cupcake get one free ( up to six per person).

Starting at 1130am until 1230pm we will have Barney the Magcian in with his rabbit and animal balloon making skills! So make sure you get here in time for the show!

From 1-2pm Belle from Beauty and the Beast will join us for a meet and greet & pictures and stories. All princess fans will enjoy this for sure!

For the rest of the afternoon, we will be offering a discounted Create a Cuddly workshop at only $25! ( outfit included!) So join us amist the fluff and make a friend for life! Pick and choose from a variety of cute and cuddly animals and pals!

This past Sunday, Lollipop had its first Create a Cuddly birthday party for our dearest Victoria! All the children got to pick the animal of their choice, with an outfit and pair of shoes of choice! The fluff was super soft an the whole morning was a blast!

Our Create a Cuddly is now a part of our "Specialty" birthday package which allows your birthday child and their friends to make a super soft and unique stuffed animal.

Culinary Treats!

This Saturday, we had a very tasty and successful cooking class! Instructed by our wonderful in-house holistic nutritionist, many healthy, but yummy treats were made! Included in the class was an avocado/date/coca chocolate pudding, followed by an adorable apple ladybug treat made with cranberries, raisins and sunflower butter.

Happy Springtime from Lollipop:)

So many wonderful, exciting things have happened this month at Lollipop! Not to worry, the month still has plenty of surprises and activities!

Our mother's day specialty was a huge success as all the children involved made a gorgeous dryable floral arrangement, painted pots and all. For a tasty gift, they also made fresh fruit kabobs as well! Homemade cards were also a hit with not only the children, but the moms as well!

Coming up this Saturday, May 14, we have a Springtime Snack cooking class from 10am-11:30. We'll be teaching them how to make some yummy treats for your next excursion or afternoon play date.

This month we are also launching our PARTY SHOPPE! We have all your party needs, including balloons, unique loot bag items, cotton candy, cupcakes, and of course an array of new lollipops!

Our Art Express Party Package is also launching at Lollipop! Have a Lollipop birthday after school on a Thursday or Friday for 1.5 hours for up to 8 children! An express party at our mid-week price!

Lollipop Art Lounge has an exciting Spring Term planned for all ages. New classes and new instructors will help us sprout into dancers, singers, chefs, and singers and potters.

This term, we're offering Yoga classes for kid's, tot's and mom's. Cooking classes, Jazz dance classes, pottery, art and music. There's a class for everyone!!!

Lollipop has also expanded our programming to Teens and families. A lot of our programs are now being offered for ages 13+ so teens can enjoy and learn from all the programs Lollipop has to offer. Weekend Family workshops will also be available so mom's and dad's can have fun at Lollipop too!

Hello Lollipop fans, you'll be happy to know that our Spring Term programs have now been finalized and you can start registering for all the great art/music/cooking/yoga classes we have to offer.

Some great new things are happening this Spring. We've added some exciting new programs to our already fabulous line-up. Check-out Mom & Baby yoga, Little Sprouts Wellness Cooking & Yoga program, Pottery Club, Teen Yoga, Teen Cooking. Plus, some of your old favorites are back: Kindermusik, JK/SK Art Fusion, Pre-school Art & Music and Little Artist.

Lollipop will also be incorporating specialty programs to highlight some of the special days we have coming up this Spring. Look out for family day activities, Easter Egg Hunt, Mother's Day and Father's Day specialty classes.

Lollipop's Spring music and art class calenders will be out soon. We're just in the final stages and should have it out to you by the end of next week so you can start registering for all the great programs we have to offer.

Looking for something between now and then - sign up for Spring Camp. It will warm you up through the final weeks of winter. Spring camp will be Caribbean-themed and offers great music session featuring bongo's and steel drums, pottery lessons, gardening, cooking, drama and, of course, Art. Wow, who can believe it's already the middle of January of 2011. Time truly does fly by especially when you're having fun and that's exactly what we're doing at Lollipop Art Lounge!

Our holiday season has come to an end and left us with many happy memories. Our winter mini-camp was a huge success. We met many new friends, created some amazing art projects and learned some fascinating facts about Christmas celebrations around the world.

Our Gingerbread House and Recipe in a Jar workshops filled our tummy's with delicious treats and brought some creativity and design to the dinner table. Our Houses had the most extravagant candy-scaping ever!

The talents of our Lollipop friends are endless and with each class we are impressed and excited by what these growing minds are capable of.

Classes Canceled: Sat. Nov. 20

Lollipop has decided to canceled classes on Saturday, November 20th to celebrate the arrival of 'Ole Saint Nick.

With the Oakville Santa Claus Parade underway it will make for an incredibly busy morning in downtown Oakville. Limited parking and road closures might make it difficult for our Lollipop Friends to make it in. Plus, we don't want anyone to miss Santa. If you're heading down to the parade, have a fabulous time and you can tell us all about your Christmas adventure next week.

A make-up class will be added at the end of the term.

Santa is on his way...

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Claus is coming to town. He'll be checking to see who's been naughty or nice. Luckily we can can tell him that all of our Lollipop friends should be on the nice list because you've brought us much joy over the past year. You have filled our studio with music, dance, laughter, imagination and creativity.

Join Lollipop Art Lounge at the Oakville Santa Claus Parade on Sat. Nov. 20th at 9am. We'll be handing out some information about our Christmas programs and new winter sessions.

New for November

Lollipop has an exciting winter season coming up. Stay warm and enjoy some of hot new classes.

Back by popular demand is our annual Polar Express Event! Because it's so popular, we're offering 2 dates and times.

This event will take you through the magical journey aboard the Polar Express to the North Pole. Craft a keepsake pillowcase, explore the world of hand bells and listen to a reading of the famous Polar Express story. Children will then hop aboard Lollipop's train for a trip to see Santa.

Aboard the train, drink velvety hot chocolate served by dancing waiters and rock on top of the world with Santa's elves as they approach the North Pole. Santa will also choose one special child to ring the bell of Christmas. Make this event a new holiday tradition for you and your children.

For ages 4+
Cost $45/child
Time 6-8pm
Date: Friday, Dec. 10 or Friday. Dec. 17th

Christmas Mini Camp! Another block-buster event here at Lollipop! This is the first time we're offering this and it's already almost full.

Lollipop Mini Camp is taking place the week of Dec. 20 - 23 from 9am - 12pm. This three hour drop-off session will be filled with holiday cheer and Christmas projects. Lots of singing, dancing and creativity will be transforming our studio into a winter oasis.

Each day will be a different theme, you may sign up for the entire session or just for specific days.

Need something to do for the afternoon, you can pack a lunch for your child and have them stay for our afternoon Gingerbread Workshop and Recipe in a Jar sessions from 1 - 2:30pm.

Mini Camp Session
Dec. 20 - 23
Time: 9am - 12pm or 9am - 2:30pm (combined with afternoon workshop)
Cost: $55 for morning session only/per day or $110 for for morning & afternoon/day

Gingerbread Workshop
Have your kids come in and custom design their very own candy covered gingerbread houses. Excellent gifts for friends and neighbours.

Recipe in a Jar
Add all the dry ingredients to a jar to create one-of-kind Christmas gifts for friends, family or teachers. Our little elves will be layering all the yummy ingredients to make three different types of Christmas cookies plus a warm and velvety hot chocolate cone. Adding a little touch of magic Christmas dust will make these jars special and scrumptious !

Classes are bring offered from 4 - 5:30pm on Dec. 14, 15, 16 for ages 6+.
Cost of $50/child.

PD Day Fun @ Lollipop with Miss Heather!

Miss Heather doesn't take many days off - in fact, when the kids she's revving up for some PD Day fun!

With school starting and the summer behind us, Lollipop Art Lounge is looking forward to our new fall term.

Sadly, we said good-bye to our summer campers and put away our summer shorts. But with every good-bye comes a new "hello" and a new way for Lollipop to get you excited about the upcoming season.

This fall season is full of fabulous programs that will "Leaf" you wanting more. Lollipop instructors have worked really hard on bringing you the best possible art and music programs and we have worked extra hard to offer a variety of days and times so everyone can participate. Along with our regular high-quality art and music classes, Lollipop is also introducing some new classes for wee ones, preschoolers, teens and adults. Here's a sample of some of the superb classes we're offering this fall:

Grandparents Day: September 25th
This is the first official weekend of fall, and when we think of fall, we think apples! We invite you to come and create a delicious apple crisp (3y-4y) or apple pie (5y-7y) for you and your grandparents! Join us for a healthy treat, well be making and eating Apple Crunchies this weekend. *grandparent is welcome to come and assist or child(ren) can make the pie for them.

Cooking Club (8yrs+)
Lollipop's cooking club meets once monthly to laugh, chat, and whip up some culinary wonders. Lollipop Bakeshop's own Miss Megan organizes each meeting, and makes sure everyone goes home with something mouth-watering.

October: It's a thanksgiving feast! Kids will prep and stuff their own individual Cornish hen, and serve it up with a side of veggies and sweet potatoes, followed by the world's best pumpkin pie!

November: Everyone can use a dose of cute in gloomy November! The cooking club will get down to business making Japanese bento, complete with hatching-egg chicks, marshmallows bunnies, and adorable onigiri!

December: The cooking club gets in the festive spirit with Christmas cookie bake-a-thon! Miss Megan will bestow a prize on the baker who creates the most beautifully decorated cookie!

Cooking Club (5-7yrs)
Lollipops Little Kids Cooking Club is loads of fun, and tasty, too! We meet once a month to learn basic kitchen skills, and create delicious, appealing dishes!

October: We little chefs will get together to create a kid-friendly thanksgiving meal, starting with crispy homemade chicken fingers, maple-glazed carrots and delicious dressing, and followed up by Miss Megan's top-secret pumpkin pie!

November: Were going under the sea to create an adorable ocean-themed bento box. Kids will learn how to make cute bite-sized Japanese-style snacks, including hotdog octopuses and marshmallow jellyfish.

December: Tis the season for gingerbread men! Well...shortbread men, at least! Well be baking and decorating festive friends to take home for the family!

Then in your third week, you'll lean about Cakepops and other delicious chocolate techniques. So, it's the last week of camp - we're sad to have camp end, but VERY excited for our new fall session to begin. It's a bittersweet goodbye! Lollipop is gearing up for a fabulous fall. Lollipop Bakeshop is now open for business, our fall program calendar is complete and summer camp is in it's final weeks.

Our website is currently being updated and fall registration has already began. Mrs. Heather, Kindermusik guru, is heading our music programs and Sam & Megan, art aficionados , are heading our art programs. Liz, gemstone genius, will be introducing some teen and adult jewelery designing classes.

Miss Heather and Miss Megan have been with Lollipop for quite some time and their talents go beyond words. Both are highly educated in their fields and both have dedicated themselves to Lollipop and educating children through arts.

Miss Sam and Miss Liz, are new to Lollipop but their experiences and knowledge are anything but. Both will bring exciting new programs and classes to Lollipop. Also joining us this fall is Corene, Art therapist, who willing be bring new ideas and learning techniques to our classes.

Fall Programs run from Sept. 20 - Dec. 10th and programs run weekly on Tuesday - Saturday. Saturday & Sunday afternoons are reserved for spectacular birthday parties and special events. Another week of camp is coming to an end. Our Down Under theme is whisking imaginations off to far away lands where Koala's, Dingo's and Kangaroo's roam free. Aboriginal Art, wombat stew and postcard canvas bags are helping to transform our studio into the Australian Outback.

Campers are preparing for the dramatic performance and gallery showcase for their parents. We've had an exciting week with Creature Quest, Cake decorating with the Goodie Goddess, Pottery with Mandy and flower sculptures with Gary from Convallaria. Fine Arts, Outdoor Fun, baking and music have only added to the excitement.

Lollipop campers were in for a special treat this week. Loren, the Goodie Goddess, came by the studio to teach campers the art of baking and cake design. Campers received their very own 6" cakes and took their creativity to a new level by decorating they very own personalized cakes.

Not only were they delicious but they almost looked to good to eat. Campers learned the basics of fondant - how to mold it and how to make flowers and piping.

Cake Boss - watch out! Lollipop Campers will give you some competition you didn't expect.

Hot Summer Fun in the City

Lollipop campers are sure having fun at Camp this summer. Campers have been creating some beautiful pieces of art work, cooking up delicious meals and getting their voices and bodies moving with drama, dance and songs.

Week 1 focused on "Under the Sea". Campers used their green thumbs to make aquatic gardens with real live Beta Fish. They used different papers and paints to make amazing under water canvas paintings and used creative thinking when pottery sculpting. Creative Quest came to visit with some special "friends" that like to hang out in the water - frogs, a turtle and a baby alligator!! Older Campers transformed into Pirates and explored the outdoors while searching for treasure and putting on a fabulous end-of-week performance for parents.

Week 2 has been just as fun. Tikki Tembo-Chinese Music and Folklore has turned the studio into the "zen" lounge. Campers made their very own Chinese Lanterns, Kites and Tikki Tembo Puppets. Today they cooked up an Asian Feast fit for a King. Gardening, Pottery and Fine Arts are just some of the other things they have been working on. They end of the week will be exciting when they perform the songs and dances they have been practicing all week.

Next Week - Week 3 is another great week we're looking forward to. All three ages groups will in the studio and it will be buzzing with creativity, imagination and song. The 3 - 4 age group will be hanging out "Around the Farm" while the 5 - 7's and 8 - 12's will be visiting the "Rainforest".

There is still plenty of time to register for week 3 - 8. Each week all campers experience Fine Arts, Music, Drama, Pottery, Gardening, cooking/baking, Creature Quest. Older Campers also go on outdoor excursions and do activities outside.

Beautiful under water scenes came alive with our beta fish and gardening project. Scary pirates went on a treasure hunt and discovered a wonderful hidden treasure and bone remains. Cooking, pottery & Silk Screening were a big hit and we ended the week off with a dramatic performance and ocean songs.

Happy Canada Day Weekend! Get out and enjoy the gorgeous weather because summer is finally here!

High temperatures and hot sunshine is the perfect start to Lollipop's Summer Camp. We'll use our Ocean theme to cool us down as dive deep into our under the water sea projects and explore the outdoors on our pirate treasure hunt. We're doing some really cool projects and have some really cool visitors coming to our studio. Starting June 21st, Lollipop is opening our studio doors to those of you who are finished early. Our Open Studio will showcase a little of our big plans for the summer. 2 hour drop off sessions for ages 3-4 from 10am - 12pm, cost is $35/child/day. 3 hour drop off sessions for ages 5+ from 1pm - 4pm and costs $45/child/day. Lollipop's "Everything Under the Sun" Summer Camp starts the week of July 5 and runs through to Aug. 27th. Registration is open and some weeks already have limited space. If you want to hang out at Lollipop this summer, register now.

Our Summer program will be our best ever. Themed weeks will be the focus of our art projects and dramatic performances. Special instructors will teach us new techniques and give us an opportunity to learn and try different art forms such as photography, pottery, music and drama. Trips to local Museums, Cooking at Paradiso and lunch by lake will take us outdoors. Half day camp if offered for ages 3 - 4. Full day camp is offered for ages 5 - 12. 3 - 4 yrs. Cost $185/week from 10am - 12pm

This 2 hour in-studio camp session will give little campers their first taste of camp and we guarantee they'll love it. Campers will be encouraged to create and explore the world of art through age-appropriate art projects. Children will learn basic art techniques for painting, sculpting, collage, drawing and design, which will ignite imagination and confidence.

Campers will also participate in a 45 minute music session with Ms. Heather. This session will allow happy camper to play instruments, sing and dance. The program will introduce sounds, rhythm and movement. Music sessions will help develop communication skills and coordination.

Gardening classes will give the chance to get their 'green" thumbs dirty by creating something beautiful. Healthy snacks and cooking projects will keep them energized and a visit from some furry friends will make the week extra special.

July 5 - 9: Splash!
July 12-16: Circus
July 19-23: Around the Farm
July 26-30: At the Park

5 - 7 yrs. & 8 - 12 yrs. from 9:30am - 4:00pm.

This full day session will keep kids busy all day. Campers will be given the opportunity to explore many different artists and techniques and perhaps discover their own hidden talents. Each week will have a different theme and projects will be focused around that theme. Campers will be introduced to different forms of art and multi-media projects. Special lessons in Pottery, Photography, Gardening and Silk Screening will give campers a new way to express themselves and their talents. Art classes will incorporate painting, drawing, sculpting, colour blending and more. All art projects will also be showcased at the end of the week in a gallery-style setting. For ages 8+, art projects will follow the same structure as the 5 - 7 group but will challenge and introduce them to more difficult techniques and styles. Ages 8 + will work more independently to allow for full creative control.

A large component of camp will be our end of week performances and art showcase gallery for parents/caregivers. Weekly camp sessions will allow for drama and music. Campers will work on a group performance where they will write, act, dance and design all sets & costumes. Campers will work closely with Ms. Heather to develop a music/dance routine. Campers will also be making their audience something special to snack on after the performance.

Campers will be introduced to world of culinary arts at Paradiso Restaurant. Special menus will give campers the chance to make and eat a delicious meals. Cooking at Paradiso has become a camp favorite and everyone looks forward to finding out what they'll be cooking up. Campers always come back full of food and energy. Paradiso always sends home recipes so favorites can be made again at home.

Trips to the local Museums, picnics in the park or lunch by the lake get campers outside and moving. Outdoor nature walks remind them about the beauty that surrounds us and outdoor games let campers let loose and have fun.

NEW this June is OPEN STUDIO taking place from June 16th - June 30th for ages 3 - 7. Drop-in for a few hours of imagination and creativity. Supervised art classes are offered daily or weekly. It's a sad day at Lollipop today. There was a great lunch, delicious cupcakes and a few tears as we bid farewell to Miss Kristy.

Miss Kristy has brought Lollipop to the next level of teaching and exploring art. She has expanded our knowledge of artists, techniques and made us believe that everything is artistically beautiful, just like her.

Miss Kristy is warm, fun, caring, exceptionally smart and makes everyone feel great with her infectious smile and love of life. She is amazing with students, parents, staff and customers and has become a wonderful and trusted friend. To say that she will be missed is an understatement.

On a sad note, Lollipop is saying good-bye to one of our most treasured teachers. Mrs. Kristy will be leaving us at the end of April. Her energy and talent brought new life into studio and It is with great sadness that we bid her farewell but wish her the very best. Her dedication to Lollipop goes without questions and she has only proven how extraordinary she is by continuing to help us plan the best possible programs from afar.

Everything Under the Sun Summer Camp at Lollipop Art Lounge - Summer 2010

From fine art, drama, gardening, and cooking, kids will enjoy a complete camp experience. Each day the campers will learn new skills and have hours of fun in a safe and secure environment. Outdoor excursions and special guests will ensure there will never be a dull moment. Lollipop Art Lounge has a wealth of creative and energetic staff members who have built an exceptional program featuring the expertise of established local studios as well as our own signature designs.

Summer camp is Hot! Hot! Hot!. Happy Campers will enjoy in-studio craft and art projects, baking and gardening projects, and many outdoor adventures. Special guests will visit to teach campers about pottery, music, yoga, while Creature Quest will bring in some exotic animals and “creatures” for us to hold, pet, and learn about. Paradiso will turn Lollipoppers into perfect little chefs, and the art classes and projects will keep little hands busy.

All of our camper’s artworks, pottery creations, snacks, and performances will be showcased at the end of each camp week with our private gallery show for all parents and care-givers. Their memories will last a lifetime with our Summer Camp Memories Scrapbook. Each day, kids will write about all the fun they had, add pictures and drawings to complete their scrapbook and take it home at the end of each week. Our scrapbooks will remind them of their new friends and hold everlasting “Lollipop Art Lounge” memories.

Our focus is on fine art and design, our projects will have your child’s personal touch and be the piece you will be proud to display in your home.

In house baking, gardening, and art projects will be designed to suit each group. Special visitors will tailor their lessons to give all groups a fun and educational experience. Each day, all groups will add another page into their camp scrapbooks to remind them of all the fun they had.

This half-day camp program is just enough time for little ones to experience camp. Little campers remain on site to work on specially designed in-house projects, baking activities, and even get a little dirty with our outdoor gardening projects. School aged children will experience a full day of camp. Specially designed In-House art projects will give campers the space they need to design personalized creations. Trips outdoors and visits to local vendors will give campers additional experiences and adventures.

March Break has come and gone. Today, we bid farewell to our little campers who have brought smiles to our faces and creativity to a new level.

Our studio was filled with Little Artists who experienced new art techniques, made fabulous pieces of art and above all met some great new friends and had loads of fun.

We want to thank all campers who joined us this March Break. We enjoyed having you spend time with us and hope to see you back for Summer Camp.

Spring Camp has Sprung!

Spring Camp at Lollipop Art Lounge started this week with smiling faces and bright sunshine. With some old friends returning and some new friends emerging, the week was off to a great start. Kids were busy working on amazing spring theme art projects, participated in Music, headed out for some outdoor activities and more.

Campers made there way down to Paradiso where they made honey balsamic chicken skewers, warm potato salad, fruit smoothies and pineapple puff pastry tarts...delicious! Loren from Goodie Goddess came in to help us make the most decorative and scrumptious cupcakes ever. Convallaria's most talented flower guru, Gary, dropped by to teach campers how to make beautiful floral arrangements in their self-designed glass vases and Mrs. Heather is getting the kids moving and singing during their music segments. Yoga and Nature walks break up the day with some exercise, games and fresh air. Lots more to come to this week and next.

Special guests, Lollipop's energetic staff and happy campers make the weeks fly by with fun, laughter and learning and make us wish it was Spring camp every week.

Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Family Day!!! Lots of things to be happy about over these past few days and we hope you are enjoying every last minute of this glorious weekend.

Lollipop Art Lounge is happy with a few things as well. This past week we opened our Coffee Lounge! Now you can enjoy a nice hot coffee, tea and snacks while your kids are emerging into little artists. Speaking of cool things, Lollipop's March Break Camp is all set up and ready to go. Now, all you have to do is register. Lollipop Art Lounge is busy getting ready for Spring. We've been doing some Spring Cleaning and still several products at 50% OFF. Our retail still is getting a mini make-over so be sure to come visit and check out the changes which are coming soon.

This has been an exciting year for Lollipop Art Lounge. We have gone through many changes but all have made us better than ever.

Earlier this year, we moved from Lakeshore to Trafalgar, expanded our studio and re-vamped many of our art & music programs, brought some fabulous new instructors on board, changed our retail selection and really changed our focus from shopping for our kids to engaging and educating them using art and creativity.

Thank you for sticking with us throughout the past year and working with us through the changes. Lollipop Art Lounge would not be what it is if not for the wonderful families that stayed with us and all the news ones who have joined us.

Lollipop has been having so much this holiday season that it truly is the most wonderful time of the year for us.

We started the month off with a gallery showing of the incredible art projects are fine arts students created. Kids got to show case their proud works of art and parents were overwhelmed by their talent. Congratulations to all of you. Lollipop's first gallery showing was a huge success thanks to all your hard work and dedication. Can't wait to start the next session in the new year.

Lollipop also had the pleasure of meeting Santa at our Polar Express Event. Santa heard how much fun we were having and decided to stop in for a visit. Kids started their journey by creating a silhouette outdoor scene, which was used on our magical train ride, they painted their very own Polar Express pillowcases that can use at home and sang merry songs, heard the Polar Express story, boarded the Polar Express with their magical golden tickets and got a special visit from Santa. It was an amazing journey that we'll be sure to take again next year.

Today, we wrapped our Gingerbread house workshops, which means that Christmas is just around the corner - only 3 days left!

Our Gingerbread house workshops turned out some spectacular edible homes, complete with trees, snowmen and picket fences. These houses were covered with Candy from rooftop to bottom. Each one was different and had the personal touch of the person who created it. No two houses were alike.

Thanks to everyone who participated in any of our holiday events. It's been a great year.

Lollipop Art Lounge is bringing Home Decor to the edible level. Sign up for our Gingerbread House workshop and design your own outdoor winter scene, complete with a Home, tree and snowman. Santa Claus is coming to Lollipop!

There is no question that winter has made a strong and forceful appearance - with this cold, you would almost believe that we are in the North Pole and speaking of the North, Santa has just sent Lollipop a very special and important message. Santa heard about Lollipop's Polar Express event and wants to stop in a for visit. We couldn't say "No" to Santa so he's coming and he'll be joining in on all the fun and present the first gift of Christmas.

It's going to be a magical journey and you won't want to miss it. Our imaginations will get us aboard the magic train and our golden ticket will have to be punched so we can take our seats, dancing waiters, hot chocolate and Santa snacks will turn lollipop into a Winter Wonderland - our journey wouldn't be complete without music and the reading of "The Polar Express".

Let's not forget that we have to make room for good ole' Saint Nick and his jolly Ho-Ho-Ho!

The Polar Express departs Lollipop Art Lounge on Saturday December 12, you can hop aboard from 10 am - 12 pm or 1 pm - 3pm. We promise not to leave without you.

Don't go to school, come here...Lollipop's P.D. Day program is awesome! Last Friday was a huge success - we had so many friends come to spend the day with us and it was a jam-packed fun-filled day. We made custom-designed gloves, silly putty, puffy paints, lots of drawing, outdoor games and went on a nature walk.

November 20, 2009 at 7:00pm - Tree Lighting Ceremony

Celebrate the lights, the magic and the charm of downtown Oakville as the Christmas season kick-off starts with the official lighting of the Tree in the Towne Square. Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves will be treating everyone to hot apple cider and holiday cheer. The ceremony will begin at 7pm with a Christmas carol sing-along with the Salvation Army band followed by the lighting of the tree at 7:30pm.

November 21, 2009 - Oakville Santa Claus Parade - 9am

Get your first look at Santa this holiday season at this year`s Santa Claus Parade. Come down early to get a good spot - don`t forget your blankets, hats & mitts to keep you warm. The parade begins at 9am and will wind its way through Downtown Oakville.

Lollipop Art Lounge was honoured to be part of the 53rd Annual Provincial Conference for the Ontario Council for Exceptional Children (Ontario CEC).

The Ontario CEC Conference provides up-to-date information on educational issues and methods to educators, paraprofessionals, administrators, researchers, parents and other parents involved with children who have special learning needs.

Lollipop was proud to inform conference delegates of the great programming we offer and what we can do to integrate those with special learning needs. It was a fabulous day for us as we met many wonderful people who offered us valuable information and ideas. We hope we were able to educate on the importance of art and creativity in learning.
